Kotoko Chase Title Today
By George Osei

Kumasi Asante Kotoko have all, but clinched this season’s premiership title and their fans in the Garden city will have cause for celebration as they take on Tema-based Real Sportive in a game of little importance to the champions-elect.

What they will seek to preserve will be their unbeaten home run in this 27th week fixture as one of eight games to be cleared this afternoon.

Sportive who are in a serious fight to avoid relegation, will give it their all in a bid to survive the premiership, but are expected to come up against a tough Kotoko side who have vowed to maintain their unbeaten run at home.

The Tema-based club have beaten the Reds in Kumasi before but on this occasion it would be asking one question too many considering the present form of the home side.

Liberty Professionals are in a two-hot-race with Heart of Lions in the battle for second place, and both have interesting games with four matches to end the season.

Professionals make the short journey from their Dansoman base to Tema to face Tema Youth in a game of much importance to both sides.

Tema Youth need all three points as they chase premiership survival with Professionals counting on a win to improve their chances of playing in the African Champions League next season.

Heart of Lions host another relegation-threatened side, Sekondi Hasaacas, at their Kpando base and should be favoured to collect all three points as the competition for second place hottens up.

Defending champions Hearts of Oak are not free from the drop zone and should expect a difficult assignment against King Faisal at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra.

The unbeaten three-year home record of Arsenal at Berekum will be put to the test as they host AshantiGold at the ‘Golden City’ park. The Miners are pushing for a top four finish together with the Gunners, and would be very unyielding in this encounter.

In other games, Kessben FC host All Blacks at Abrankese; Zaytuna entertain Wa All Stars at the El-Wak Stadium with Great Olympics traveling up north to face the might of Real Tamale United at the Tamale Stadium.
