The Minister of Women and Children’s Affairs, Hajia Alima Mahama , has made a special appeal to muslim women to take active part in the decision-making process of the country to help improve their socio-economic conditions.

FROM a Culture of Violence to a Culture of Peace: "Transforming the Human Spirit," an exhibition examining the nuclear weapons issue through the lens of human security, opened at the UN Office at Geneva. Held in conjunction with the second session of the Preparatory Committee of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation on Nuclear Weapons (NPT), the opening was attended by numerous diplomats and nuclear disarmament activists.
